By Jordan Edwards, marketing and communication officer WILA USA

In the previous article in the February issue, I provided a brief overview of the history of press brake tooling. When examining this history, I learned that perhaps no technological advancements had an impact as large as the developments made in precision technology. Precision instruments led to more accurate machines and tooling, which in turn allowed for new developments, including an entirely new type of bending (air bending), infinitely more possibilities in regard to part complexity and significant advancements in throughput and production capacity, just to name a few.

But to fully understand how revolutionary precision technology has been for the press brake tooling market, one must realize just how limited press brake operations were before this technology existed.
